Marquis Hines is the Owner and Principal Attorney at Hines Law Firm.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Marquis has strong ties to the Las Vegas community. After graduating high school, Marquis joined the United States Air Force, serving four years as a firefighter. After his enlistment in the USAF, Marquis joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, serving the Las Vegas Community in various roles, including Corrections Officer, Patrol Officer, Detective, and Training and Counseling (TAC) Officer.
As part of LVMPD’s Office of Community Engagement, Marquis, along with his colleagues and the 8th Judicial District Court, created and developed the Law Enforcement Intervention for Mental Health and Addiction (LIMA) program, which enabled hundreds of people to be connected to resources such as housing, mental health and substance abuse counseling/treatment, and job opportunities.
After more than ten years of serving the Las Vegas Community as an LVMPD officer, Marquis retired to complete law school. Marquis received his Juris Doctorate from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, MN. While in law school, Marquis obtained the Conflict Resolution Theory and Practice Certificate from the nationally ranked Dispute Resolution Institute at Mitchell Hamline.
Marquis has experience in both criminal and civil litigation, including slip and falls, car accidents, and workplace injuries. Marquis has represented countless injured workers and veterans in their workers’ compensation and V.A. disability claims, respectively.
